This was one of those early songs that I tracked and mixed myself at home. I have not played this live since 2014. To motivate me to play it again live, I need to work it up with a partner...it has complex melodies and begs for interaction!
When I sink below the ground where I was born, the refuge is a dream
And its alright…but its not my mind
A day adrift, a day delayed, I interrupt the stream
Its alright, but its not my mind
Its alright, but its not my time
I temporarily believe the shift will wait for me
Its alright, but its not my mind
A leisurely dependence on a likely mystery
Its alright, but its not my mind
Its time, to take what’s mine
Retreating when I need direction
Living alone takes more devotion
I swing beneath the fireplace in memories of old escapes
And its alright, but its not my mind
I deign to breathe another day, despite the failure of yesterday
To clean, and become light
Believe and purify
The city I have lived within, I have never surrendered to the wind
and its true, I lived for you
I take a dip in the river
But the journey ends at my shore
Its alright, but its not my mind
