This demo was created remotely by all four members of The AO, over early April 2020. Dale Jones from a basement in the Woodstock neighborhood!
Dors Ward from an RV just outside Battleground WA...thru his iPhone!
Myself and Megan Cronin from a basement in the Reed neighborhood!

I used ProTools to mix and self-master, checking with band members for suggestions along the way over the phone, over gmail, over text.

It all started when Dale wrote a poem on a whim in late March 2020 and (foolishly) shared it with me early in the morning. I got a melody idea while I read it. It was a weird melody, and I didn't trust it. When it didn't go away after a couple hours, I took a break from pressure-washing the driveway and recorded a quick demo on my phone, sending it to Dale for approval. He quickly lied and said he liked it. Then, the ProTools session was built, and the band members started chipping in their parts.
