Chris Baron - Sing to the Roses

from the Glyndon Sessions 2021 special Edition by Chris Baron Music

about

When Glyndon and I first talked about an overarching recording project with no barriers and specific goals, he said he wanted to start by producing a rock&roll version of "Sing to the Roses".  IF I changed the lyric "wherever we roam and the radio's blastin, everything happening here grows a song..." to "wherever we roam and the radio's blastin, everything happening here grows a soul...".  I agreed.
I laid down a simple acoustic guitar and vocal demo as a basis, then simply went home and waited a few weeks.  He performed drums and keys, sang an interlude, and made this magic into the non-banjo song it always wanted to be.
The original version of SttR was my self-produced track #2 on the 2019 album Habits.
The lyrics are about a dream I had, following a singing voice through a redwood forest surrounded by windy rose petals.
