The lyrics of this song are about my Polish immigrant Grandfather, and his personality pushing himself to succeed in a new world where his language and family were "foreign", and how over a generation, that shaped me.

I have performed this song over the years solo, with The Tummybuckles, with The Baron Ward, and with A Crab's Life. This studio recording is modeled after the Crab's Life version.
